A Guide To Smilesss NFT: 3D Characters By Waheed Zai

In October 2021, 8,888 Smilesss NFTs hit the market, and it has been all smiles for the community since then. This collection reveals the brand’s vision of high-quality clothing: rich in color and texture. Waheed Zai, a digital artist, shares his past stories through his crazy artwork with thousands of people.

What is the Smilesss NFT collection all about?

Waheed teamed up with entrepreneur Giovanni Gussen to embark on this journey. Along with the fully doxxed team, the 8,888 pieces build off of Waheed’s previous 1/1 artwork, featuring the iconic character, All Smilesss. These visionaries are determined to build a movement and community that connects with their passions for real-world culture. The collection extends the vision of both the duo and pushes the boundaries of fashion, culture and technology across the digital and physical realms.

The NFT reveal last year was a great success, with everyone raving about Waheed’s artwork. His artwork for Pooh Shiesty also made it into one of Jimmy Fallon‘s episodes. This collection should represent both successes and failures, dreams and reality for the artist. Because clothes are a representation of places, emotions, and experiences, he uses fashion as his main theme. He mixes bold colors with cutting-edge fashion while referencing emotions, places and designers.

Ultimately, Smilesss wants to create a luxury streetwear brand. It should offer something people can wear and feel connected to in the digital and physical realms. Fashion can also be connected to music, entertainment, and sports. This is where the project shines. These cultural aspects will allow them to tap into the community more effectively, according to the team.

Back in 2021, the team first unveiled the project to the world in ComplexCon 2021. The limited-edition merch was not the only thing that was available. There was also an AR booth where people could see the characters in action. The team has participated in music, gaming, TV shows, and sports since then.

The team collaborated with Alessandro Tarabini in order to have a Lamborghini Smilesss-wrapped at the Lamborghini Super Trofeo World Finals. To host esports tournaments, there is an ongoing partnership between eFuse and TIME studios. TIME studios will also be creating an animated series with this collection. Not to forget the mini hoop tournament in collaboration with round21.

Of course, there were the parties! In collaboration with Deadfellaz in Austin, Texas, the team hosted their first Smilesss party. To kickstart their grant program, the ‘LA: Smilessfornia’ event was held. The list goes on.

Despite all the excitement surrounding partnerships and IRL events the NFTs are still a central point. Coinbase recognizes this and announced them as a Day 1 Launch Partner for their NFT marketplace. This will bring new Smilessss followers. The Smilessfam is having the time and the best times of their lives with free airdrops, limited merchandise and meetups.
