BAKEUP by Jo Baker is a new digital beauty brand highlighting makeup’s potential to express one’s individuality. Two artists from different fields, Jo Baker from beauty and Grace Gaustad from music, created the brand. They have created digital makeup looks that can all be used, collected, traded, and sold in the metaverse.
BAKEUP is a digital-first brand that pushes the boundaries of self-expression and beauty. Its mission is to offer a new view of beauty that can exist in many realities. The Disco Veil, its first limited-edition product is due to be released both as an NFT (an AR wearable filter for Snapchat and Instagram) and as a physical product.
BAKEUP also teamed up with DAZ 3D (creators of the Non-Fungible Persons (NFP), NFT) collection. They will create digital makeup looks that rethink the definition of makeup. DAZ 3D is a well-known brand for creating NFTs for major brands such as Warner Brothers and Coca-Cola. This collaboration will undoubtedly continue to propel the BAKEUP brand forward, which launches on the heels Grace Gaustad’s second album PILLBX.
About the Grace Gaustad & Jo Baker collaboration
More than just a musical artist, Grace uses makeup as a form of self-expression. After giving makeup artist Jo Baker a lookbook with her own music-inspired makeup ideas, Grace worked with Jo to bring her vision to life. The creative collaboration resulted in the creation of a storytelling project, powered by music and makeup. Grace Gaustad and Jo Baker will launch the results of their collaboration in the Fall.
