Italian Meta Luxury Brand Visionnaire Launches its First NFT: Apollo Belvedere

Visionnaire, an Italian brand of meta-luxury, announced the launch of its first NFT. The Apollo Belvedere NFT project, named after the Greek divine archer Apollo is the first ever from an international luxury furniture brand.

Visionnaire will launch its NFT during the 26th edition of Miart. The brand’s relationship with the Avant-garde will be expressed through the NFT. It will also incorporate the innovative design techniques made possible by NFTs in luxury interior design markets.

Apollo Belvedere was created in collaboration with American artist Jonathan Monaghan. Monaghan is renowned for his work on the relationship between 3D animation and physical sculpture. Moreover, Monaghan was also an early adopter of NFT. He has been in the crypto and blockchain space since 2013.

The mutual values of Visionnaire and Monaghan prompted them to reimagine Apollo del Belvedere. Both sides believe it to be a symbol of aesthetic perfection as well as the tension towards the future. From post-Hellenic art, the moon landing in ’72, to the coming of disruptive digital art, it has been a symbol of breakthroughs in history. It is the perfect icon to launch Visionnaire NFT, an initiative that honors the Italian brand in all spheres of artistic expression.

The life-size bust, carved in Carrara marble is inspired by the capitonne leather which is typical of the furniture world. It brings antiquity back into the modern age. It is known for its careful examination of the contrasts: virtual and real, past and present, softness and hardness.

Visionnaire dropped 3 video NFT “teasers” on March 28th, 2022 on the marketplace Foundation. The sculpture will be on display in the Wunderkammer in June ’22. It will be on sale together with a dedicated NFT “plus” during the 60th edition of the Salone del Mobile di Milano.
