Seth Green Pays 165ETH To Be Reunited With His Bored Ape NFT

American actor, Seth Green, recently paid 165 ETH (around $300,000) to be reunited with his previously stolen Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT.

Eventually, Seth Green has been reunited with his beloved Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT, one that he lost in a scam last month. He originally paid around $200,000 when he initially purchased #8398, only to have it stolen. He has spent nearly half a million dollars total on this NFT.

A few NFTs were also taken from the BAYC during the scam. Two Mutant Apes, and a Doodle were the other victims.

The Bored Ape was particularly meaningful to Green. This actor plans to make the NFT the star on his new TV series, ‘White Horse Tavern’.

His words “the NFT is home” were included in a Twitter Spaces that he hosted on Thursday.

Recently, he took his first steps into NFTs when he purchased the stolen NFT. The purchase was made initially so that the NFT would be featured in White Horse Tavern’s TV series. A trailer for the series’ was unveiled at VeeCon in Minnesota, a few weeks back. Green built the IP of the series around his Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT so of course, when the NFT was stolen, he was extremely disappointed.

There were concerns about the loss of commercial rights at that time. Many people believed he would lose his commercial rights. However, Green replied back and said: “Not true since the art was stolen. If a buyer buys stolen art for real money but refuses to return it, he/she is not legally entitled at all to exploit the underlying IP. It’ll go to court, but I’d prefer to meet @DarkWing84 before that. Seems we’d have lots in common.”
