Tezos Foundation Launches Fund To Collect NFTs by Asian x African Artists

The Tezos Foundation is a Swiss non-profit organization that operates on the Tezos blockchain. It has announced a PS1 Million fund. The fund will collect NFTs from Asian and African artists. The collection will be displayed on the foundation’s website as a digital gallery. Misan Harriman, a British photographer, will curate the work of the artists.

Tezos Foundation’s New Fund: All You Need to Know

Founded in 2017, the Tezos Foundation has access to around PS1 billion in funds. Tezos, an open-source cryptocurrency, launched the Tezos network a year later. Tezos has taken several initiatives over the past year to bring creators, as well as collectors, to its platform. This is the latest initiative in this area. The upcoming Permanent Art Collection and a Digital Art Gallery are two examples.

An activist and a creative director, Harriman will curate the PAC’s first Digital Art Gallery. He is also the chairman at London’s Southbank Centre. He is also the first Black photographer to photograph the British Vogue front cover. Tezos’ NFT collection will be a focus of his efforts to acquire works by “up-and coming” artists from “underrepresented” regions.

“The Tezos Foundation Permanent Collection will support and celebrate a new generation of artists that have chosen a smart contract-enabled path to be their true selves,” said Harriman. “As the curator of this collection, I want to ensure that the world is aware of the many voices who are creating extraordinary crypto art. We will be the custodian for this new community of creatives.”

Recently, the Tezos Ecosystem has been part of several premier art and culture events across the globe. This includes Art Basel Miami Beach in December 2021 and SXSW ’22 in March 2022.
