The Top Digital Collectible and NFT Platform VeVe

If you love digital collectibles you will have heard of VeVe. VeVe offers something for all tastes, whether you’re a fan anime, film, gaming, sports, and pop culture. Let’s dive deeper into the world of VeVe NFT collectibles!

What is Veve?

Put simply, VeVe is an app-based marketplace to buy, sell, and trade premium, licensed NFT collectibles. It’s available in both the iOS App Store as well as the Google Play Store. VeVe allows fans to have unique digital collectibles that are unique and one-of-a kind from all kinds of fandoms.

Founded in 2018, VeVe is a subsidiary of ECOMI, a Singapore-based cryptocurrency company. ECOMI created the platform to bring “premium licensed NFT digital collectibles to the mass market.”

VeVe also offers customisable, virtual showrooms where you can display your collectibles in all their glory. The platform also features Augmented Reality (AR), which allows you to bring your 3D collectibles alive. Simply scan your surroundings and tap to drop your AR collectibles wherever you like. You can then move them around, share them on social media or send them out to others.

This year, VeVe is gearing up to launch its own metaverse, called VeVeVerse. According to the company, it will be “an immersive metaverse in which fans and collectors can stake their claim in a new and collaborative world of collecting.”

Is Veve An NFT?

According to ECOMI’s website, VeVe enables users to “obtain common, rare, or one-of-a-kind digital collectibles”. They can also “customise” and display them in virtual showrooms. Alternatively, they can “buy, sell or trade collectibles with other VeVe users – all from the palm of their hand.”

Early last year, VeVe partnered with Immutable X to offer carbon-neutral and gasless NFT minting. By December 2021, VeVe completed re-minting all of its NFTs via Immutable X. All VeVe NFTs now reside on Ethereum’s Layer 2.

Is Veve Legitimate?

According to a report by SensorTower, VeVe is the largest NFT trading platform on mobile. These results include both consumer spending and global installs. At the time, VeVe’s total installs had reached nearly 744,000, generating $112.5 million in consumer spending.

Furthermore, ECOMI boasts a fully doxxed team with a wealth of experience. Its CEO and Founder, David Yu is the founder of various businesses including the independent video game retailer, Games R Us and Retail Management Group Ltd.

Similarly, co-founder and COO, Daniel Crothers is a serial entrepreneur. Alfred Kahn, the Head of Licensing, meanwhile, has over 30 years of experience distributing and promoting iconic brands such as Cabbage Patch Kids and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

What’s more, VeVe’s 3D digital collectibles are created by acclaimed sculptors such as Jim Lee, Todd MacFarlane, and Scott Snyder. These creators are known for creating 3D sculptures in 3D.

That said, the platform has several drawbacks as well. To purchase digital collectibles, users must first purchase VeVe’s “Gems” in-app currency. VeVe recently made it possible for Gems to be converted into fiat. These collectibles can only be sold on VeVe’s secondary marketplace.

How Does Veve App Work?

Firstly, you have to download the VeVe app on iOS or Android. After that, you will be able to create an account and begin collecting digital collectibles through the Store.

But, as previously mentioned, you need Gems to buy the VeVe NFTs. This was apparently introduced to make it easier for non-crypto users. Go to your app’s Wallet section and click “Get More Gems”. One gem equals one dollar.

As most collectibles cost around 60 Gems, you should have at least 60 Gems in your wallet. The Gems can be purchased using Credit Card or Apple Pay. To complete the transaction, click on “Buy Now”.

Recently, VeVe introduced a Payout feature using which you can withdraw your Gems and transfer them to your bank as fiat. The feature is currently in beta and only a few customers can access it. You need a minimum of 1000 Gems to use the Payout feature. Additionally, there is a 50 Gem minimum withdrawal and a maximum of 50,000.

The platform will also charge a 10% fee. The current support for OMI is AUD, CAD and EUR.

How to buy OMI to get your 1st VeVe collectible

OMI or ECOMI tokens are VeVe’s utility tokens. Every time Gems are used for VeVe NFT purchases, the platform trades the OMI tokens and burns them. OMI tokens are removed from supply, and the VeVe userbase grows, so OMI’s supply will decrease. The token’s value will rise as more supply is available. Currently, OMI is trading at $0.00256.

You can buy OMI using USDT on a number of altcoin exchanges, including Gate.io, AscendEX (Bitmax), OKEx, BitMart, and BitForex. You can also buy Bitcoin and Ethereum on exchanges such as Coinbase, then trade them for OMI.

Then, you can swap OMI to Gems on the VeVe app to buy the NFTs. VeVe will soon roll out a feature that allows users to transact directly in OMI via the VeVe Market (peer-2-peer). Users will soon be able to buy a limited number of collectibles using OMI in phase 2 of the OMI utility rollout.

What NFT Drops Can I Buy On Veve?

As mentioned earlier, VeVe has built partnerships with some of the biggest brands in the world, from industries across pop culture, gaming, anime, sports, film, and TV. These include Warner Bros., Disney, Marvel Comics and DC Comics. Let’s look at the top NFTs listed on VeVe.

Comic book collectibles including Marvel & DC

VeVe is home to a range of comic book collectibles created in partnership with giants like Marvel and DC. Marvel first announced its partnership with VeVe in June 2021. The offerings include both comic book collectibles and 3D figures, called Marvel Mightys.

In the months since, Marvel and VeVe have released a range of comic book collectibles, including the first Marvel comic book ever released. The duo has also released several comic book collectibles featuring Spider-Man, Storm, The Incredible Hulk, X-men, and more. Blind boxes are used to release the comics. Users will not know what they have received until the day after purchase.

Similarly, in partnership with DC Comics, VeVe has launched statues of Batman Black & White, Bombshells, Harley Quinn, and Batman vs. Killer Croc, among others.

Disney and Pixar NFT collections

VeVe is the exclusive drop partner for all Disney NFTs. In November 2021, VeVe celebrated Disney+ Day by launching a series of NFT collectibles featuring some of the world’s most iconic characters. Called ‘Golden Moments’, the series included interactive golden statues from Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars, among others.

There were a total of 18,666 NFTs in each collection, except the Pixar Golden Moments, which had 16,666 NFTs. Disney has released a variety of NFTs featuring beloved characters from VeVe. The Mickey Mouse NFT Collection was one of these. It was available in two series.

Meanwhile, Disney’s Pixar Pals NFTs featured characters from Toy Story, The Incredibles, and Monsters Inc. These were such a huge hit that they sold out within 24 hours of launch, amassing $3 million!

The Simpsons and Other Cult-Classics As NFTs

VeVe is also home to NFTs of some of the most cult figures in history. Take for instance The Simpsons NFTs dropped as part of the Disney Golden Moments collection. Launched in November 2021, the collection featured two collectibles–Homer and Bart (common – 12,333 editions) and Skateboard (rare – 6,333 editions).

Love James Bond? VeVe also has NFTs that feature the iconic character. The platform partnered with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios last September to launch the “No Time to Die” collection.

In October, VeVe dropped NFT movie ticket stubs to celebrate the release of the 25th James Bond film. Later, in February 2022, the platform launched James Bond’s Triumph Scrambler 1200 Motorcycle as NFTs in partnership with Triumph Motorcycles.

How To Get NFT Drops On VeVe

VeVe drops new collectibles every few days, during what they call “Drop Days”. These NFTs are in high demand, and some sell out quickly. Keep an eye out for VeVe drop announcements. Next, create an account on the app to ensure you have enough Gems.

Alternatively, you can pick up your favourite NFTs from VeVe’s secondary market. You will pay more here, however.

All things considered, VeVe is an excellent platform to get official collectibles from some of the biggest global brands. Some of these NFTs could even be extremely valuable due to their exclusivity. However, it is important to do your research before you make any investment decisions.
